So I have a check ride for a B737, but when I am supposed to fly 10 legs prior to the checkride is that 10 legs in my currently rated airplane ordo i need to file 10 legs with the 737 before i become a first officer?

You will need to earn the rank of Captain in your current program first. For that you need 10 flights. Once you are a Captain, you can take the 737 FO written exam and request a checkride.
