Is it possible or maybe in the works to get the A340 and L100 in fsx format for install?

I think that might be a while if at all.. If you want to fly them in FSX you'll have to find a freeware or payware addon I think.. But then I'm not in charge of that stuff so someone who knows more about it may want to chime in here..

Cheers..!

What does it take to convert the planes over? Is there anything I can do to help?

At first glance it may appear that all that needs to be done to make an a/c FSX compatible is to 'port' it, or simply put it in (sometimes using a converter, sometimes not). But either way you port it, it will still have some bugs. Some panels wont work, some doors wont open etc. Then the development team (Luke, Luke, and Luke) goes to work on fixing all of that.

The a/c can only really be called 'FSX Compatible' when it flies as well or almost as well as it does in FS9.

It's not a simple process. I guess you could say all of the aircraft are in the "works" to be FSX compatible. When however, is a mystery.

Besides, if you want to fly the 340 save those pennies and buy Wilco Airbus vol 2,
get a nice VC, a real working FMC, and it includes the 330-200, 330-300, 340-300,
and 340-600. A bargin for about 40 bucks!
