Guys,
I was flying from KATL to KPHL with the A332 and I had quite a lot of trouble with it. It's the only Airbus that's given me trouble to fly. Airbus are excellent birds, but I don't know about this A330-200. I don't know whether I was making the mistake, if I had any cargo doors open or anything, the thing is I couldn't keep my speed constant over 240kts (when setting the Speed to 310), and if I climbed over 0800ft/min the speed would go way down. Flaps were 0, gear was up... don't know... a little strange to me. I don't know whether this bird is underpowered, I was doing things wrong (I am pretty sure I wasn't, but, pobody's nerfect.. errr... nobody's perfect) there is a model problem... dunno... any help would be appreciated!

On another note, the A320 is a GREAT plane, responsive at all times and very comfy to deal with. Highly recommended.

Thanks guys!

The A330 and 340 are known for being underpowered.

I've never considered the A330 underpowered, although it becomes a real dog the minute you start extending the flaps. I've yet to be able to reliable adjust power to maintain steady speed with the flaps down.

With the 330, make sure you don't add extra fuel, and like the 320 it requires a good head of speed before climbing above 10,000 feet. Accelerate first, climb second.

Gastón,

How about a short flight SAEZ-SBGL
Date: Today, 12 Oct 2004
ETD: 1900Z
ETA: 2130Z
Distance: 1085.8NM
Aircraft: PSS A330-200

Routing:
DORVO UA308 POR UA314 ETANO

Flight Plan:
SAEZ DORVO PABOT LOMID MLO OGRUN ABELA TORON POR JUICE FNP XAREO ETANO SBGL

All are invited to join in. We are going to try and find out why his A330-200 does not respond correctly.

I recommend installing Robert Scott's FDE and CFG file for PSS A330-200 available from PSS Support. The latest version is H.
