I haven't been able to find B737-400's in the DVA schedule. Can I fly the B737-400 on DVA flights that use B737-800 equipment? The panel instruments much easier to read on the 400 in my FS2004 ... otherwise I'd be happy to fly the 800. Also, is there an easier to read 800 panel that can be substituted?

Thanks for any suggestions.

William,
As long as you are rated to fly it, you can fly it and pirep it. So yes, you can fly the 734 - go to the pilot center and see what you are also qualified to fly - if it says B737-400 you're ok.

And to clarify - it doesn't have to be a 738 flight - you can fly it on any of the routes, so long as you are rated to fly it, and the equipment you're flying can do the trip.

for example - you can't fly the 734 from ATL-EDDM - it doesn't have the range

you can fly the 734 from ATL-MCO even though I don't believe they actually use a 737 for those flights (not enough seats to bring people to disney world??) so just pick any of those flights and pirep it with the 734... not a problem.

George,

Thanks for the response. Being able to fly different airplanes than shown on the schedules will be a big help.

I agree - that's just one of the many reasons why DVA is so great! If you want to fly from KSLC to KPHX and all they fly there is a CRJ, no problem - you can fly it in the 734 if you like (so long as you are rated to fly the 734, of course!)

of course, some common sense should prevail - I wouldn't take a 763 and fly it from KATL to KTYS...
