am I able to log practice approaches with DVA? say I want use a aircraft I'm rated in for practice ILS's. Some VA's I've been in have had flights like that listed on their available flight list. Is there anything like that or am I able to just log the flight?

To be able to log a flight you must start at one location and land at another location. These two locations must also be on a route within the DVA schedual.

You are allowed to utilize ACARS for training (giving data to review). To do this, just tick the "Training Flight" box. These flights however can not be logged.

Have a nice flight!

Peter,

I see your point.

However, currently the arrangement is modeled around airline operations rather than proof of skill.

Currently ACARS work only if you start a flight at a gate, which is same as real life. For practice flights (which start the same), there is a offline report you can view. Besides we have the pilot trainings like Private Pilot program where you can share your skill and expertise with established veterans.

But to answer you question, sorry, it does not do so.

Ditto using ACARS and selecting "this is a training flight". This will not go towards your log book, but you can still pull up the data.
