I was wanting to see a route to Madeira at some point. The airport code is LPMA- the approachs here can be very challenging exspecially runway 5. Check it out here is the you tube video for this approach. Please add a flight to LPMA this airport will support aircraft as big as the md-11. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2LHzKOPZwE&feature=related

note this is not an actual real approach for runway 5 on this video it's much more difficult there are other you tube videos that show the actual approach flown correctly

Routes are only added if they are in the RW schedule, or if they are part of a RW codeshare.

Hello Jason

Try and see this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vP59HoF4gs
Note that aside the unconventional approach, the pilot is almost always confronted with a cross wind, as you can see from the video. The problem with the airport, beside the obvious, is that the winds come rushing down the slope of the mountain off the left side of Rwy 5, thus creating a treacherous crosswind that is always gusting... The camera is posted on this slope.
A few years ago, this runway was almost half it's current size, as you may know, and THAT was a really big challenge in real life! I was privileged to be able to see first hand both approaches... from the observer seat in the cockpit of an old 737 and, more recently, of an A321, both of TAP. It's absolutely incredible... I can only begin to imagine what would be like doing a similar approach with buildings all around you like Kay Tak in Hongkong!

Best regards
Ricardo
