Short answer is no. Too many reasons why. DL has limited interline wit AA through MQ but that's about it.

Plus American is a oneworld partner, not skyteam in which DAL is a member of.

Oneworld, SkyTeam? Ok - you forced me to Google them. Warning - old guy story: In the "good" old days, when I flew on airlines a lot (read that as - "we had leg room" and an exit row was just a place where there was an exit door), I could walk down through the various gates and see a flight that beat my booked flight by an hour. I'd ask them if they would honor my ticket (from another airline), and off I'd go. Now that's globalization before it became a political bumper sticker. judge

And then deregulation happened. Ticket prices went lower and took customer service with it.
