Took a flight today from Denver to St Louis in the MD-88 and filed the PIREP with the flight number being the default that FS gave me. As soon as I hit "submit" I realized I should've looked in the flight schedule database first to see if this particular flight existed prior to takeoff, and needless to say, it don't exist...so this particular flight shouldn't count towards my number and hours, and that PIREP shouldn't be accepted. Apologize for my mistake.

don't worry bout' it.. they will probably just reject it.. but hey at least you got some experience flying.. we all make mistakes.. i once saw a flight in the schedule from Atlanta to Ontario, and i thought it was Ontario Canada, so i did the flight.. and filled in the pirep.. just to see later that it was Ontario, California.. as homer would say.. DOHH!!!

it happens to the best of us.. :o]

Welcome on board!

Thank you for bringing the oversight to our attention. You are correct, to PIREP flights they need to appear in our flight schedule, DAL or Air France real world schedule, or be a codeshare flight.

Your first PIREP was approved.

Rolando,

I had my response form open while you were busy making a reply about the PIREP. As you see, the decision was made to approve the PIREP because it was the pilot's first filing and he was forthcoming with the facts. We all make errors from time-to-time. I see no reason to penalize someone for their good intentioned efforts. A little bit of flexibility can be a good thing. Don't you agree? Afterall this is supposed to be enjoyable and fun.
