Hi,

1-If I fly a 4 hours flight at 4x(most part of it) do I log 4 hours or 1 hour?

2-Is there any difference in term of validity of my pirep, if I fly online or not?

3-The flights are approved upon which criteria?

1. Ops state time acceleration are to be filed as real time you spend flying, therefore 1hr
2. I don't know.
3. They are in the schedule or group flight (oficial).

Cheers!

Er...

Sorry, answer for number 2 is. There is no term for validity if you fly it offline or online. Online flights can be crossed checked with VATSIM's database. As to the validity of the flight itself, you can file them via ACARS or Manually (ACARS is avail in our Fleet Library). If you file it manually and didn't do the flight, you are only fooling yourself.

Cheers!

A couple things--

If you're going to fly a lot of a flight under accelerated time, file the hours as the actual *real* time, not sim time, that you spent on the flight, and please mention in the comments that you used time compression. Otherwise we might get it and say, "Hmm, he went JFK-LAX in an hour and a half, that's the world's fastest 757..."

You may fly offline or online on any of the networks (IVAO, VATSIM, FPI), just mark your PIREP appropriately. The biggest difference is that online flights will get marked on your PIREP and listed separately by your name in the Cooler. Other than that, they all count the same.

As for approval, remember that all PIREPs are approved manually by a member of the staff (senior staff, CPs, ACPs). Generally, we check to see if your flight matches something in our schedule, or in the real-world Delta timetable, or if it matches an event. We also see if you're rated for the aircraft that you said you flew; you don't have to fly the exact type of aircraft stated on the flight schedule, within reason, but it's got to be one you're rated for, and it's got to be one that can make the flight. So please, no CRJ-200 flights from CDG to ATL. smile

The easiest way to avoid confusion is to put any special notes about your flight in the Comments section of the PIREP.

I've been wondering about this part, Lewis - thanks for clearing that up for me. I am understanding from what you said, that I can fly MD-88 routes with the B737 and even some B757/767 routes, assuming the range of the flight works out for the 738 I am flying. that gives me some flexibility to go to some places I might have passed up.

thanks

Maybe it's me, but I can't seem to find the ACARS program. Gaston mentioned that it's in the fleet library. I really don't see it. Is it listed under some other name? Thanks guys.
