I use Autobrakes on everyone of my landing from Craig Elbridge said that normally we use 2 and 3 quite a bit so that's what I use on most of my landings now coming in longer rwy's like at KLAX or KDFW I usually use 1. Most pilots are fammaliar with not using them but I have watched 2 videos and in those videos there were 4 landings and each landing consited of using of AB. Hope it helps take care...

The use of autobrakes also depends upon the weather, type of runway, length of runway and runway conditions. For example in the winter in certain places like New England you may encounter ATIS or PIREPs with Nil conditions...in other words braking is very, very poor. In rainy weather you have to consider the potential of hydroplaning. Also what's the landing weight of the aircraft. These are just a few of the considerations when using this piece of equipment.

BAW SOP's sorry guys......

NEVER USE 1 it doesnt provide consitant braking.
Use 2 for standard landings
Use 3 for contaminated runway or short length
Use 4 or Full in emergencies only.

Well i might disagree with you Never using 1 Autobreak the whole point of using Auto Break 1 is that the runway is long and you might need constant breaking. Which increases both engine and break life. Also if the water is really really wet I might use 1 but no more then 1 because the aircraft just might slip AB one will provide me ABS type of breaks which are more affective on wet surfaces then non ABS breaks. Just my 2 cents take care...
