Hi all,
I just read a story about Delta and discovered at once Delta used to operate Airbus A310-324 obtained from PanAm (as well as some -200 series). I browsed through avsim.com and found that there is a repaint of such aircraft fro Harald Nehring. Apparently, this type is missing from our Virtual airlines. Do we want to fly it? I am quite tempting anyway

Yeah, I've got a model of one in DAL colors. Who needs Airbus? We should be allowed to.

Sounds like a good idea. Would add a cool dynamic to the site. As opposed to flying nothing but Boeing/ McDD equipment....I would be first in line to get a transfer to that plane.

I love flying the Airbus. I fly them for FedEx. Like in the real world, Boeing is in trouble when even the VA's are choosing to fly the Airbus over the Boeing"s. It's ironic that I just now saw a Boeing commercial on TV as I was typing this post. The mighty Boeing company has it's hands full trying to stay ahead of Airbus but may be down for the count when the monster A380 is delivered in a couple of years. The 747's are getting old and the 7E7 could well be Boeings swansong if they keep losing customers to Airbus Industries.

I don't know. I can't see the 380 beating the 7E7. I mean, no one's purchased 50 A380s yet have they? For some reason I just have this gut feeling that the A380 won't last as long as the 7E7. Go Boeing! But I'll admit that I do look forward to seeing the 380 in Atlanta or something. God knows that's gonna be the biggest plane ever built.

Go Airbus!!! ( makes a victory dance:P)
Paul could be right, even big american carriers have ordered Airbus aircraft (Northwest and US air if i'm not mistaken) the reason nobody ordered 50 A380's is because it can size up to 800+ people, so basicly you can carry about 4 times as much people as with the 7E7(just a rough guess). allot of cariers that ordered the 7E7 are Boeing costumers for years (ANA by example) and some are buying Boeings for political reasons (EL AL).
and for all people reffering Airbus as "scarebus) think of this; the safety reccord off Airbus Aircraft is better than that of Boeing, no Airbus has crashed becaue of a bad designed electrical cargo door by example.

I admit, I love Boeing more than Airbus. And I am not comparing the A380 to the 7E7. They are two differant class of aircraft. I am saying that Airbus is looking at the Super Jumbo airliners like Boeing did in the sixties and Boeing won with the 747. But, the 747 is getting old and no new Jumbo Jet design has come off of Boeings production lines but the 747 in various models and compacities. The A380 will dwarf the biggest 747 and it will be able to carry more people so fewer aircraft would be needed to get the same amount of passengers from point A to point B. The A380 is a gamble that Airbus is willing to take and it may just pay off in the long run. As far as the 7E7. It's nothing more than a soupped up 737. A hotrod of the airline industry. It may turn out to be a winner, but it isn't a multi passenger transoceanic Jumbo Liner like the A380 will be.

Oh yes, I cant wait for the release either, If Airbus pulls its cards right it should be out by Late Spring 2005.
I heard that the first floor is going to be all passenger seating, and the second floor is going to be a cafe, bar, internet lounge, rest area, and maybe even a steak house, and an IHOP...maybe.
oh, oh, oh.....maybe a game room, or a flight simulation lounge, or maybe a McDonalds and a Krispy Kreme.

"I think Delta should've bought more Airbus planes instead of the all boeing fleet" As far as I know, Delta didn't really buy any. It was a result of PanAm. (so in a way I guess they did buy them.) I understand that they were a nightmare for mechanics and overall just weren't as good a Boeing. Boeing is very cool. very good safety record too. 7E7 will be awesome.

you keep saying that Boeing has a verry good safety record, but I believe they have not. you can bring a 757 down with a piece of ducktape if you want, you can be killed by a exploding cargo door, too name a few.
and it's easy just to say "Boeing is better" but it isn't that simple. wich Boeing is better than the A310, the 727? probably not, the 737? maybe, 757?, big change ,767 probably, but is going to be beated by the A330, 7E7? not yet build so nothing is known about it. I just don't get your point, I just want to know why are you such a anti Airbus person?
