A question for those who use the Steam version of FSX. Do you guys still adjust your config settings around? The config file is what I'm referring to.

i adjusted mine, guess force of habbit because even though its through steam its still fsx

I did some adjustments, but not many. The Steam edition seems to work well "out of the box" but your experience may vary.

I adjusted mine too. I also increased my virtual memory to use HDD space on my SSD. Worked wonders for the frames. I also get better frames running unlimited instead of controlling down to 23fps within FSX SE.

There has been discussion about unlimited vs setting limit for fsx fs9 on the interwebs

Some say that setting unlimited causes overdrawing of frames giving you shudders,

setting cap 30 fps will limit over draw and decrease stuttering

I have yet to see any result

I tend to get better frames when it is set to unlimited on fsx. I tried to set it at 30 on average and it stuttered more. I average anywhere between 20-30 give or take. I also utilize active sky next ( live weather, best program out there) for weather. I haven't seen a difference in having it set at a limit or unlimited.

As for adjusting the config file, yes I asked around if anyone knows of any adjustments. Many thanks to CP Ronnie Jacola for his assistance with this.
