Hey all,

So I just recently got back into flying for dva. I love this virtual airline. Well since I came back I have noticed my frames have been decreased in a big amount. From 25 to 15. I haven't updated anything from my current setup. I have asn Rex, pmdg, captain sim plus navigraph data. Anyways, long story short, the other day steam had a update and seems like since then, my fps has taken quite a hit. I even had a ctd tonight. (I'm not happy bout it) (haven't had one in a long time) I also have a tweaked fsx file and have replaced it and still hit on fps.

I am seriously considering upgrading to a modern desktop computer with a ton of ram, and memory and gpu. Does anyone have any ideas and reccomednations for a desktop and also a idea to increase fps on fsx se? I am leaning towards steam update messing something up.

Here's a setup/config guide for FSX on Avsim.

Everyone's system is different, but for what it's worth I found that after getting everything configured setting my frames to unlimited in FSX worked best for me. It made a big difference with everything else staying the same.

I think I figured out something. So after doing research up until after midnight last night, I found out somehow the high res 3D virtual cockpit was ticked and also lens flare. I didn't have the lens flare checked before but somehow it automatically did it probably with the update. I unchecked those two and bam got a little better increase in fps. I'll be running tests to confirm
