I just installed 32GB of RAM into my computer. When I checked the specs it recognized all 32GB but it said on 16GB usable! Is there a way to get it to use all 32GB? Or did I just make an investment on an upgrade that I may do in a year or two??

Hi Art. Are you running 64-bit OS? Also is your memory 4 x 8gb or 2 x 16gb?

64 Bit. 4x8. Im also using Win 7 Home Premium. A friend told me last night that Home Premium will only use 16. The Win 7 Professional will use 32GB. Im looking into that.

If you're using a legitimate copy of Windows 7, chances are that you were eligible for a free Windows 10 upgrade. You might consider looking into that, instead of investing more money into an old OS version. As Sean said, Windows 7 memory limitations include 16GB for Home Premium, and 192GB for Professional; however, Windows 10 memory limits are a bit more generous. Windows 10 limits are: 128GB for Home, and 2TB for everything else. If you have the free upgrade, I think it might be a great way to get you up & running quickly.

Notwithstanding ... just curious, what, in the name of all things holy, do you need 32GB of memory for on a Windows system? I've used 32- and 64GB-memory systems before, but they certainly weren't Windows and they weren't workstations.
