This this problem was partially partially brought up in a non-technical channel but remains unsolved. I have been using ACARS for almost every flight. Installed Windows 10 and ACARS worked fine. Then Windows 10 updated. ACARS now works fine during flight but now when I want to look at a saved ACARS file windows says it doesn't know how to open the files. (Worked fine in Windows 7 and before the update). The data is off line and saved to my documents in an ACARS directory. Now each flight is saved as two files - a *.sha and *.xml where * = ACARS number.
Luke suggested using notepad to read the files, but the image shows what I see when I open ACARS files with Notepad. The previous post "Need help reading ACARS files is now redundant and should be deleted. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

To start off, it is really small and hard to read what it is saying. Is it possible for you to post bigger picture here?

Thanks for interest. I've solved problem - it was the browser which automatically opened the zip file before saving.
