After many years of service in Operations, its with great sadness that I announce that Don Baker is stepping down. Don runs the real world Delta simulators in Atlanta and while we like our work to slow down as we get older, his real world work has picked up tremendously. Don has been a great reference for all things Ops to both Kevin and me over the years. Wanna know what we did 7 years ago? Don can tell you. He is like the DVA elephant. We're going to miss Don in our Ops office and we wish him all the best. Don will continue to lead the L1011 program as Chief Pilot.
Taking over the position of Assistant Director of Operations for Don but certainly not filling his size 14 shoes will be MD88 Chief Pilot Ronnie Jacola! Ronnie has been a great help to me in many ways over the years. He's an accountant so I'm looking forward to my biggest tax return ever this year!  Please welcome Ronnie to his new position. Kevin and I are excited to him him in our office!

Thanks everyone.. Here in the "real" simulator world, we have been very busy.. We are getting new simulators, A350,A320,B717, and more on the way..Removing old simulators and procedure trainers.. Updating the visual systems and re-hosting the old computers on the old simulators. Lots of work to keep me busy... I will still be here at DVA running my small group of L-1011 pilots.. I just do not have time to help with all the new projects Andrew has for DVA coming down the pike.. Ronnie will be a great asset to Andrew and DVA in his new position as Assistant Director of Operations.. See you guys in the Sky's..

I'll see you around the campus, Don. I'm in A320 training right now, but doing the full flight sims in MIA. I know the sim tech department is extremely busy but I think that is called job security.
