Hey everyone,
I have been getting back into FS after a long hiatus, and enjoying flying the 737NGX but I am wanting to fly the 777. I fly p3d, and only p3d, and there is no good solution for stage 4 aircraft with p3d. I am hesitant to attempt installing the level d 767 because I've heard of some people having to reinstall p3d, and all add on etc if things dont go right. It is not officially supported with p3d and windows 10 which is what I am running. I have 6 flights on the 767 as a first officer from back when I was flying FSX a few years ago. I really don't want to leave this VA just to fly the airplane I want to but there really doesn't seem to be a good way for me to move through the stage 4 aircraft. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks.

Hello Richard and welcome back.

In addition to the Boeing 767, stage 4 also includes Airbus A330-300, Lockheed L-1011, and Douglas DC-8. Sorry I've never used P3D before but are any of those aircraft offered in P3D so that you could use one of them to get to stage 5?

The only aircraft I would be interested in would be the a330-300 which is available from blackbox. It isn't fully finished yet, and I haven't heard a lot of good things about it, but that may be the only way I can make the step up to the 777. I'm just not interested in the L1011 or DC8.

sorry for the double post..I found a solution that will work for me, I purchased FSX SE and installed the Level D 767 in that, so I can finish up the few flights I have with the 767 then transition up to the 777. Program switch here I come!

Richard,

I was going to ask if you'd be opposed to picking up FSX on the cheap somewhere just to get you through stage 4 but you said previously you already owned FSX in the past so I thought maybe at this point you were against using FSX period. Glad you found an acceptable solution and I approved your transfer request this morning.

I had FSX back a few years ago but have long since lost my copy of it, so I just got FSX SE and it will work. Won't be the prettiest few flights but I already had 6 done in the 767 previously, so should be able to knock those 4 or 5 flights out pretty quickly. I enjoyed flying the 767 a few years ago so should be fun. I hope PMDG does the 767 next, would love that.

Thanks for approving my transfer request, I appreciate it.

Richard, if you like older aircraft, Just Flight's DC-6B for FSX isn't bad. It's tier 4, but is fun to fly!

Is the DC-6 tier 4? I thought it was tier 3. Either way I concur. I bought the JF DC-6 just to do the check Ride and now it's my go to plane. It's probably not the most realistic flight model but it's a joy to fly. I have the Connie and B377 and almost never fly them now.

Yep, you're right, it's a tier 3. There goes my reading skills! And yes, it is a nice plane!
