I haven't really ever come across anything concrete as far as a solution to this problem I have with ImagineSim KATL. This is the older version on FSX

Does anyone have a fix for the blurriness on approach? It does this when set to day or night. Thank you in advance

This file on Avsim is supposed to fix the lighting in FSX: (FSX Lights Fix) https://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=149396

I use The Textures from REX World Wide Airports HD, so I dont remember what it looks like in default on my system. Also you might try turning off bloom in settings if its on.

Odd.. the 2012 version works great for me. its the 2016 that's all sorts of messed up.

Looks like your bloom and halo.bmp are way out of base... Do you use directx10 or 9?

this is how mine looks. http://imgur.com/iRPHccN

I concur with everyone else. That looks like a bloom issue.

I'd first check for any bloom settings and do a tactical disable (ie: don't make more than one change per test, so you can identify exactly which change fixed the problem).

If you're not having luck there, I suppose the converse approach would be to disable all of your addons (special attention: any enb/fx enhancers) except ATL, see how it looks, and then re-enable your addons one by one.

Disclaimer: I don't have IS's KATL. I was considering buying it, but when I saw reviews about blurriness, I decided to hold off until the fix was discovered. This, however, is the first time I'm actually seeing what the complaints look like. That definitely seems (to me) like a bloom issue; perhaps a clash of a couple visual enhancer addons. I think a couple of the REX products mess with bloom: I have 3 & 4 TD, and I think I recall bloom settings in both of those. I'm pretty sure I also saw lighting enhancements in Worldwide Airports HD. Does IS have its own bloom FX? That would be my guess: something is making your lights look nice "in general," and then IS's KATL has its own nice-lighting stuff that's doubling up with another product to become overkill.

Edit: You know what, is that Orbx you have running too? Try looking there. I don't remember if it was Global or Vector but one of the two pumped steroids into my lights when I installed it. I really think you've got a case of double enhancement going on.

The only fix is to run in directx10 and convert the effects and override them with steves' fix (payware). there is NO real fix under directx9. One can mess about but it will never work right. Also orbx still isn't dx10 compatible so you need to convert their effects with steves fix anyway. Then you can control them from there; the orbx control panels (ftx lights) is horrible and one should never even touch it

REX4 has a ton of halo.bpm textures you can try for the best look. You can hunt down freeware ones too but I was not impressed with any I tried. You really need to run a small non bloomy non sparkling halo.bmp map.
