Dear DVA,

First I would like to thank you for your continuous and educational efforts making our hobby much more fun and useful, I have few suggestions and I apologize in advance if it was discussed before or if it's impossible to make:

It's really a cool feature when the code of airports is clickable then you get a beautiful page with much useful information about the airports, but you know that 95% of airports are unfamiliar to pilots, so, I suggest to include the following information at each airport page:

1- Information regarding the airport's general elevation above sea level.
2- Time in local and UTC for sunset and sunrise.
3- Direct link to arrival/departure/airport charts.
4- Type of planes not recommended or forbidden to land at that airport due to certain limitations such as topography or RWY length

I know all the previous information could be researched and obtained with some or little effort but I thought to recommend it to you anyhow.

Best regards

Alaa

Great idea! We actually have something of this sort being worked on now. We're updating some of the data on gates. Once this phase of the work is done and officially rolled out, we can look to enhance further. Right now it will show runways and Delta gates. We'll work to improve upon it.

The big challenge is to keep the information up to date. The FAA does this with their updates.....How to automate?? so some issues to keeping it current. cool

For those following at home, I've finally ported a decent sunrise/sunset calculator to Java 8 and have introduced this data on the Airport Information page. I'll be adding these calculations to other places over time.

Cheers!

Just for an addon to what he said. Why don't DVA pilots get a schedule? Like certain routes to fly in the month? I know they do that in the real world but I feel like it would be cool to add

Christian if you have no draft flight reports, there is a way in the pilot center to do this, one flight at a time. Its under Flight Planning > Flight Assignments.

Actually, I just looked and it doesn't do what it used to do. I haven't used it in a while. If you'd like Operations to assign you some flights, I can do that! Just open a help desk issue. I see you fly all kinds of aircraft so I'll make it interesting. smile

Having an assigned flight schedule each month would be cool with an option on how many flights you would want on the monthly schedule.

In the real world. I heard that you have to be in a specific program and do a certain amount of flights (like we have here). But any future flights if you choose to do any, are in the plane that you chosen. Not the program of planes

Scheduling of pilots real world is based on seniority off assembled schedules by aircraft type of 'lines' flown. The senior pilots pick what they want then what is left is picked-over with the junior pilots getting fun places like Fargo. The contract specifies the minimum hours a crew person is required to fly. I'll link the old scheds I saved from Northwest so you can see what it was like back in the day.

RW bidding for schedules these days is an on-line affair and complicated-there is a you tube on how to do it by module: https://www.youtube.com/user/DeltaPBS/videos

Oh I can't wait to see this roll out! I was using IFLY ipad terminal maps to identify gates and locations in airports till that app got deleted from the app store. im not flying right now due to RW commitments but when Im back up and flying with V4, this feature of where to park would be wonderful!
