I'm alittle confused, I was accepted into the 757 Program after passing the F/O Exam, but wanted to transfer into the 767 Program. I was told to complete a check ride but did not. I notice my additional ratings were updated listing all of the 757 and 767 aircraft after completing the exam. When I spoke to the Chief Pilot of the 767 Program, I was told to talk to the Chief Pilot of the 757 Program have him transfer me and then request a transfer into the 767 Program. I am so confused and dont know exactly whats going on at this point. I have already started flying the 767-300, because I was told it was ok because it was listed under my additional ratings. I was hoping my profile would be updated to show the 767-300 and not the 737-800 (Stage 2) Program I'm currently in. Can I get some help on this one anyone? I understand the staff have there own personal and professional committments but I just want to be kept informed on what's going on. I sent an email and didn't get a response, so I don't know where else to turn.

Did you check "Transfer Aircraft" or whatever it is that's not "Additional Rating" on your exam?

you were told to complete a check ride but did not?

Unless you were previously in a stage3 aircraft and voluntarily stepped down to stage 2, you have to not only take the F/O exam, but also submit a check ride for the program you're requesting to be transferred into.

There may be more behind the scenes on this than I'm aware of, but straight across the board, the typical situation is - a B738 pilot is in Stage2, so to switch to B767, you take the 767 F/O test (and since they recently split, the 757 test will probably do, I don't know) and take a check ride that the B767 Chief Pilot dictates...

Just trying to help!

This sounds like a deliciously bureaucratic mess. smile

If you want to join a Stage 3 program (specifically the 767), you'll need to take the 767 FO exam, and then the 767 Check Ride. Being a 738 Captain gives you the ability to get the 757/767 ratings and still stay in the 738 program, which seems to be what has happened. Take the 767FO exam, and then get in touch with Mike Evans to see what kind of a checkride you'll need.

Cheers!

Just an F.Y.I. when I first tested to join DVA, I passed sufficiently enough to join the Stage 3 Program for flying the 757/767. I decided to step down and fly the 737-800, so maybe that is the case? If so, then I should be qualified to just transfer into the program for the 757/767. If so why is it so complicated? Why not just transfer me and get it over with? That's why its confusing because I was told I don't have to check ride and they would transfer me in the program, but it hasn't been done yet! I don't know what to do maybe just wait it out.

Maurice, I did the same thing you did. I couldn't get the B767 to fly on my system and asked to be allowed to continue flying the B738 as I did at my previous airline.

I e-mailed Terry direct and he arranged it for me within 24hrs.
