Hello folks,
Seeing as I maintain a navdata subscription with Navigraph, I keep running into either mismatched or missing SIDS/STARS/TRANS because my cycle is a step ahead. What happens is the ACARS drop down menu doesn't show the correct departure/arrival or it's simply not there, but it is in my aircraft's (and FSCommander) FMS. When I file my PIREP, I get a system notification that there was a null entered. Even though I'm prompted to download the latest cycle when connecting, it's still out of date.
In short, can I load the current cycle (1707 as of this post) in lieu of the current 1706 cycle in ACARS? If so, where does it go? I searched the program but can't find an appropriate folder. If the cycle is stored on DVA servers, how can I assist in updating that?
Regards from down under,
Bill Alexander

Bill,

On acars under file, should be update acars data cycle. I know 1707 is not updated on acars. Sadly. I too use navigraph. Best service ever. I need to update my subscription though. But the current Airrac cycle isn't loaded in acars yet. I just make the best with what I can myself.
Enjoy Australia brother. Always wanted to visit the land down under.
Regards from up above. (Sorry bad joke)

That's ok Joe!! wink I originally come from your neck of the woods - Richmond Virginia. My folks still live there. I came here care of the USNavy, married a Perth lady while still serving, then moved here after I ended my tour of duty. It's a beautiful country alright. I still miss Virginia though - especially when the Autumn leaves are in full color and everything below is green.
If you ever decide to make the trip give me a yell. I'll be happy to show you around.

Oh no way! That's awesome brother. I'm about 3-4 hours south of Richmond. It is beautiful that time of year. Thank you for your service! I definitely will let you know if I make it down that way. I've always wanted to visit. Just afraid of time off from work. My job we only have a small department and it's hard to get time off.

Sorry, y'all need to remind me if we go more than a week after the update. I usually hold off for a few days because the FAA doesn't update their chart metadata right away, but it shouldn't be 2 weeks late.

Cheers!

Haha Luke. If you'd like I can remind you when the new cycle gets released.

Hey thanks Luke!

Now things are matching up (minor discrepancy I got today - TJSJ San Juan SID - GLADA3.PRCHA in my iFly and PMDG FMS/FSCommander = GLADA2.PRCHA in DVA ACARS...no big deal). Oh well, these things are revised in the real world more than we'd ever know. A close friend flies a Fokker 100 for Jetstar here (1st officer) and he tells me they can change in just a few hours.

Joe Burner - yep! It's a small world! I come back to see my folks in Virginia fairly often. Who knows? We might catch up there down the track. I do as much RW flying as I can - out of Hanover (KOFP) air-park usually in a Cessna 172/182. I love going out towards the blue ridge mountains because it's awesome. A hop to Roanoke would be easy.

Cheers brother!

Shucks Bill, I'm literally 45 minutes from Roanoke airport. Not far at all. If you're ever back in Virginia you'll have to shoot me a message or email. And we could grab lunch or something. That's awesome!

I love the Blue Ridge Mountains. It's beautiful.
