I recently updated to FSX Steam and have been trying to fly my PMDG 747 V3. However, every time I go to fly, and I am doing stuff in the cockpit, it will go "not responding" and will stay that way for maybe 6 seconds and I will continue on. However maybe 6 seconds later it will do it again. It goes "not responding" so frequently that I cannot even fly it. Anybody know why? It is the worst with my PMDG 747 but happens sometimes with the 737 as well. I run FSX on windows 10.

Have you tried turning off the autosave in the ACARS?

I just ran the 747 without even starting ACARS and I had no problems.... should I try turning auto save off on acars and running it again?

Absolutely. The autosave is the main culprit for pausing every 30 or whatever the value you have set it at when flying high-quality payware. The reason for long pause is because there are tons of information for FSUIPC needs to save for the recovery to work.

Yes auto save in acars and fsuipc as well. Mainly fsuipc autosave is a big culprit of the stutters and freezes.

If it's six seconds apart, I seriously question whether it's autosave. The autosave interval in PMDG aircraft is several minutes apart, not seconds, and one can turn it off when within range of either airport and on the ground.

Cheers!
