Hi Jon,
Normally, I'm not one to post in the water cooler but I do browse fairly often. However, I do have a fairly strong background in EU politics and have been studying certain EU privacy regulations (more so something like the PNR, which has been a hot topic of late in European aviation regulations...I'm also heading to Florence IT this fall to get my masters in EU policy studies). Anyways, the short answer to your question is most likely 'no'. Europeans are very strict on their privacy laws and this is just aiming to give Europeans a bit more control over how their info may be shared online. The biggest factor that would influence our situation specifically is that DVA is not exactly an EU domain (while a VA like AlitaliaVA may). Further, there is also a possibility that WHERE you are browsing DVA from may have an impact on certain information on the website. For example, if you browse DVA in the US, the personal information of fellow pilots may not be as accessible as other places. Then again, how much personal information is realllyyyy posted here at DVA other than an email address? That's where I'm uncertain. All in all though, again, I don't think this new EU regulation is something for DVA or its pilots to fret about! Any European pilots, feel free to chime in & offer some more input!

As part of general privacy updates, we are providing a mechanism to "be forgotten" while still maintaining the data integrity of our site. This is going to be a continual work in progress.

Cheers!
