Can someone help me understand how i import our schedule info into PFPX? For the life of me I can't figure it out. Thanks!

It's actually not too difficult!

1) First thing, download the schedule. Head over to the Pilot Center, scroll down to the Delta Virtual Airlines Flight Schedule section, and click the "PFPX Flight Schedule" link. That'll prompt you to download an XML file. Save this somewhere.

2) Next, open up PFPX and let it load up.

3) Once PFPX is ready, click the Globe icon on the top left and select Schedule Editor

[3A]) Optionally, if you already have a schedule populated, consider clicking Other and selecting Export Schedule. This will provide you with a backup of where you started prior to this import. This can be helpful if you choose to remove the DVA schedule later on (see below)

4) In the Schedule Editor, click the Other button and select Import Schedule. This will open a file selection dialog.

5) Find where you saved your XML file, select it and click Open

6) Wait.

7) Wait some more.

8) Consider brewing some coffee or pouring a good whiskey if you're of age

9) When it finishes, you'll have a rather large database with the DVA schedule

10) Enjoy!

Note: I don't know if my experience was typical, but I noticed a significant reduction in performance with PFPX with the entirety of the DVA schedule loaded. PFPX took much longer to load initially, as well as during routine use. It was really cool to have all of the flights already populated into PFPX, but in the end, I ended up removing the schedule and creating my flights individually as needed. If you end up wanting to remove the schedule, it's just as easy. Follow steps 2 and 3, then click the Other button and select Delete all Flights. This will (rather quickly) truncate the schedule database.

Hope this helps!

In response to the former, I believe that will depend on the individual's computing resources. As to the latter, I'm not sure what you are referring to. If you're suggesting that importing the schedule links your PFPX to a DVA server, this is not the case: DVA merely provides a file containing the entire schedule, which you can import into PFPX (there's no live connection).

I had the DVA schedule imported in PFPX as well and had the same perfomance issues afterwards. Ended up clearing the entries from the xml file again and reusing an empty but responsive flight schedule.

If you scroll up a few posts to where I provided instructions for importing, the end of that post contains instructions for removing.
