OK - that's probably bad taste, and our VP of HR will give me grief for this. However, this picture shows an FFX MD-88 cruising around 1500' AGL in the western suburbs of Toronto. I always do my flight testing out of CYYZ since I know the city and the airport so well. Folks who've been bored enough to check my logbook will note that the MD-88 is one of two standard DVA aircraft that I've yet to fly. (The other, interestingly enough, is the 757-200, but with the Lonnie Payne panel I have this may change.) I love the dynamics, and the handling. Why didn't I fly this airplane sooner?

What you probably don't know is that the MD-88 was installed using the Win32 installers I've been talking about from time to time. I extracted into the directories, built the NSIS installer script, and ran it. It worked (99%) on the first try, giving me an FFX MD-88 and the Paul Golding MD-88 panel. It installs perfectly into FS2002, and also creates an entry in your control panel like this:

I just need to test the uninstall. smile Now that I have a working MD-88, the manual and installer will all be coming out real soon.

Cheers!

Luke

I can tell you right now that these installers probably WON'T work with FS2004, until I get a copy and see what registry entries it creates. They read the registry to figure out which FS version you have, to load appropriately.

I guess it's time to get FS2K4. The sacrifices I make on your behalf..... smile

Cheers!
