Dear FS Gurus,
I run both FS9 and FSX simulators. However, only recently I have been having problems with FS9. For example, when I finished my flight, I press Esc and this usually finishes the flight. Now the Esc button is not responding, and the the simulator is still operating. The only way I can finish is press the red X on the top right corner, but this also switches off the sim and have to re-boot it again to use it.. Also to switch panels I use Shift 1, 2,3 etc. Now these buttons don't have any results. I have uninstalled the simulator and re-installed it many times to no results. I even went to the extent of not installing any extra programs or aircrafts, just the basic simulator, but still having the above problems. The FSX has no problems at all.
Awaiting your prompt advice.
Best regards,
Miklos Cserny

Jó napot kedves Barátom. No, this happens with all FS9 aircraft. How it started was I bought the FSMap installed it, it worked ok, but started having problems the last couple of days. I UN-installed the FSMap, still the same problems. UN-installed the sim, added all my extra aircraft like iFly 737, PMDH MD11 and the "queen of the skies" (PMDG 744) plus all the Airbus series. Still same snags. Again Un-installed, re-installed without the extra aircrafts just the basic simulator, but subject keys still inoperable. At first I thought that the fault may be in the keyboard, but the keys are working in the FSX as advertised.
Regards,
Miklos

Have you tried deleting the FS9.CFG file?

Try searching for your base fs9.cfg file. This file remains even if you uninstall your entire simulator, and it holds all the core settings. It is typically located at C:\Users\**Your ID**\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FS9. Make sure all your folders are NOT hidden so you can see the sub folder appdata.

Let me know if you don’t find it, I’ll send pictures or a short video.

Caleb, you are brilliant. I found the FS9 cfg like you have instructed me in C: drive. Since my simulator is is installed on my D: drive due to capacity (Terra drive). Anyway, I have deleted the cfg file from C: drive and that has solved my problem.
Thank you my friend. Now I can fly again.
Best regards,
Miklos

Caleb, I do enjoy a glass of wine that we make here in Dunaalmas. The weather is still a bit iffy, but hopefully it will get warmer soon.
