Hello fellow simmers. I was just wondering what other ideas may abound. I have suddenly been plagued with a full rudder deflection every maybe 10 seconds or so and always with the left rudder. It doesn't happen with my other flight sim (DCS). It happens with every aircraft in P3Dv4. I've re calibrated my controls both in the sim and out and it still seems to happen. I can't figure out why P3D is affected but not DCS. One would think if it really were a hardware issue then both platforms would see the same issue.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Does it happen if you completely disconnect the controller?

Art, make sure you don't have any spikes occurring in the equipment. It sounds like a rudder hardware issue. Go into FSUIPC and check the box that prevents spikes. That helped me.

Spikes aside, I also once had a "simple" misconfiguration where I had two axis in P3D set to rudder. One was the actual rudder and the other was some joystick axis. Either way, I would do something and had unanticipated rudder action, too. At one point in my life I had managed to link mouse movement to an axis so every time I touched the mouse, to click a button or switch in the plane, it caused erratic behaviour.

You'd have to go through your P3D setup carefully to see what all is configured for rudder. Check box axis and buttons as perhaps it's caused by keyboard, mouse or joystick button presses too.

David, I will check. I'm doubtful it's a configuration issue. I haven't touched anything in the configuration settings and all of a sudden it started. I'm leaning toward a problem with the controller, I'm just trying to make sense why it's not happening in other platforms

I made my own rudder pedals and joined them with my joy stick and have never had any problems, if you would like to know how i did it let me know and i can help you.

My suggestion would be to check all your control axis in P3D and be certain that P3D did not assign that axis to a second control. This happened to me. Then I would go into FSUIPC and turn off control spikes.

Sorry and I didn't see GB's response. I agree with him
