I want to upgrade my Sim to Prepar3D or X-plane. But, my computer would not handle either one. Phase one was to upgrade the PC. Done... I think I will be ok running either one.

CPU: Intel® Core™ Processor i7-9700KF 3.60GHZ 12MB Intel Smart Cache LGA1151
FAN: CyberPowerPC Asetek 550LC 120mm Liquid Cooling CPU Cooler
HDD: 240GB ADATA SU630-240G SSD + 2TB SATA III Hard Drive Combo
VIDEO: GeForce® RTX 2060 SUPER™ 8GB GDDR6 (Turing) [VR Ready]
MEMORY: 32GB (8GBx4) DDR4/3200MHz Dual Channel Memory
MONITOR: 24" MSI Optix G241VC 1920x1080 FHD, 1ms, 75Hz Curved gaming monitor

Now the real struggle, sigh, what sim to invest in.

I would say x-plane for now... and wait on MSFS 2020.

The good thing about XP is that you can try the demo. The good thing about P3d is that you have like a 30 day return policy. biggrin

Kevin,

I would recommend trying both out. As Drew mentioned you have a demo with X-plane, with P3D you have a 30 day return window. I personally recommend P3DV4 because it fixed the OOM that FSX was accustomed to. I believe with those specs you should be able to run P3D just fine. One quirk about P3D v4 though you will have to re purchase any FSX Add ons you had. Since P3Dv4 is 64Bit. I love P3D and I’ll be honest I dont regret making the switch. wink
