Hello all. So I have my P3Dv4 running pretty smoothly...no microstutters at all. This is a result of just pretty much adjusting the settings in P3D and in the Nvidia control panel. I do notice however that P3D occasionally pauses (for maybe a half of a second). When I say "occasionally', I mean on average about every minute or so. I timed the occurrences and they are random and not rhythmic. This also seems to happen with the same frequency regardless of altitude, speed, or weather.

My computer specs: I7 9700k (no o/c), 2080 Super (no o/c), 32 GB of RAM, z370 mobo, and Windows 10 Home. For addons I typically use Orbx, Active Sky for P3d, and of course, DVA's ACARS. I only fly using PMDG, Leonardo, Tfdi, and Aerosoft payware, and it happens to all of them equally.

My adjustment of the settings seem to have little effect on this issue, no matter how conservative I run P3D. I know I'm kind of splitting hairs here given the fact that this isn't exactly a game killer at once a minute, but does anybody have any thoughts? I suspect this is just the way P3D is.

If you log automatic flight saving in ACARS, my guess is that the pauses will match the autosave interval. You'll need to exclude P3D from your anti-virus.

Cheers!

I'm going to figure out how to do that for Webroot. I typically disable Webroot before flight, which isn't optimal. Also, isn't the autosave interval fixed? I.E. every 90 seconds, 120 seconds or whatever the interval is.

It's all configurable in the settings.

Cheers!

Luke I think you were right. My sim seems to be smoother now. Thank you!

I can confirm Ryan. Same issue I had. I always turn off any and all flight saving in ACARS. With my add-ons it doesn't help with a sim crash anyway.

Which add-ons are you using? I've yet to encounter one that doesn't work with auto-save.

Cheers!

Keep in mind if you have auto save enabled in FSUIPC the same pause may happen.

I've never messed with FSUIPC for anything. I know it installed when I installed ACARS, so maybe it's worth a look at least. I did take off a few hours ago from RJAA in my PMDG 748, in heavy cloud cover/rain, and it was like watching a movie it was so smooth. I am grateful for your insight Luke!

I've had no luck recovering with the FSLabs.
