Just an idea, can displaced thresholds be incorporated into the airport database?

After flying for a while I noticed that the "distance from threshold" data in the PIREPs is inclusive of the length of displaced thresholds. This makes it so that on runways with long displaced thresholds like the 31L at JFK etc the landing distance becomes pretty long... despite landing right on the markers eek

Doesn't affect much, but just wondering..

The challenge is that I don't have accurate displaced threshold data for all airports - I can get it from the sims but there it's hit or miss. Once I have that I can adjust the calculations to take it into account, but it's ultimately a data issue.

Cheers!

Thanks for the reply, Luke, figured it had something to do with the data available.

Ahh, that makes sense. I just landed at JFK on 31L and my stats said I touched down at 5811 feet from the threshold... I know I am a complete pro at the FSL A319 (cough, cough, cough), so that seemed like a float like no other (I never float in the A319- cough, cough)... Thanks for the insight! Now if I could just get the G-force number down a bit..... ;-)

Yike's I sometimes land 5811 feet from threshold without a displaced threshold. Displaced thresholds seem to make my landing look good haha

I just aim for the first 1,000ft marker and try to land just before it. Lately I've touched down just before it or in the middle between the numbers and the first 1,000ft marker. Observing real world plane spotters' videos on YouTube every single jetliner would touch down just at the first 1,0000ft marker or just a hair bit after it.
