Ok I've been having this problem for about a week FSX will not startup. I have windows 10 and when I click to start FS it doesn't get pass the startup screen, it goes away. I've tried repair with my game disc, Now I've uninstalled and reinstalled and it does the same thing. Any suggestion on what I should try next?

Yeah I tried running as administrator and that didn't work. I have AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-Core Processor 3.80 GHz, graphic card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 TI

i had that problem and in went in to the windows explorer (file manager) found the folder for flight sim and found the FSX exe. file and double clicked on it and it started flight sim.
then a made a short cut for it and put it on my desktop

Nope, that didn't work, maybe it was the latest windows 10 update ( i'll wait for the next update)

Hello Jerry,

I recently had a similar issue, looking at event viewer it looked like it was an issue with the nvidia driver.
I ended up grabbing the previous video driver version from nvidias site. Uninstalled the current driver, rebooted my pc, then installed the previous driver.
This fixed my issue, maybe it will work for you too.

+1 I had the same with P3d5 a month or so ago and that was the nvidia driver too. Try going back to the previous one like David said.
