There are some planes I am interested in flying but am not too clear what category/ rating they fall under. The E145 is under what? The 787, the a350 and a340 I assume is under the a330?
I want some wide body ratings for airbus but I dont care for the a330 as I want the a340 and a350. I sue xplane and the jar a330 is the best we got right now but its so bad. There is an upcoming a340 by toliss which will be exceptional. I also own the a350 and its a nice plane. Is it possibel to get my a330 ratings with the a350 instead?

This information can be found in the Pilot's Manual: https://www.deltava.org/library/Pilots%20Manual.pdf starting on page 15.

When getting additional ratings, you need to pass the check ride in the primary aircraft for the rating, for example if you want to fly the A350, you'll need to pass the check ride in one of the approved A330s (I did this not so long ago).

Anthony,

As Alex mentioned you can find this information on page 15 and 16 of the pilots manual. As for substitution for the aircraft checkride I recommend you contacting the chief pilot or assistant chief pilot of the program and they can better assist you with that question.

The 787 is a secondary rating of the 777 program. The A350 and A340 are secondary ratings of the A330 program.

Hope that helps.

Thx a bunch, this really helps a lot. Somehow I missed this page in the manual.
As for what versions of planes approved for checkrides for xplane, is there a list too? I remember one time there was a post years ago with something like that. I will need to know incase i have to go buy those planes to get familiar with if before I decide to advance to those programs.

There is this document: https://www.deltava.org/library/dva%20sim%20aircraft.pdf although admittedly it looks like it needs a little updating around MSFS, but this should help as a starting point for aircraft that are acceptable for a checkride. Otherwise I think Joe's suggestion is the right one, if you're not sure or want to be safe prior to buying planes/committing, just check with the chief/assistant chief pilot for the program.
