Has anyone upgraded to Windows 11 yet? Does FSX Steam, ACARS and all of the other FS stuff work ok? I plan to do the upgrade eventually but will probably wait for some of the inevitable bugs to be fixed.

Hi Gary, I've been on Windows 11 for about a month. ACARS works great but since I use MSFS2020 exclusively, I probably can't answer your other questions. I haven't run into any compatibility issues at all and based on what I've read, you can probably think of Windows 11 as Windows 10.1.

Sounds good. Unfortunately my one year old computer will not run MSFS2020, however Windows Update says that it will run Windows 11 just fine-----go figure! Thanks for your reply.

waiting for all the bugs to be worked out. Some having no issues with XP11 and some having minor ones. I suspect a re-install of any flight sim software is going to be needed.

That's good to know because I am having major issues with MS2020 freezing up after clicking the fly button so I am guessing I can rule out windows 11

P.S. I kind of like some of the new layout of Win 11 as well.

I have had a good session with Win 11 ACARS and FSX albeit Active Sky 16 no longer works. I'm trying to troubleshoot it but so far it's a dead end.
I will likely roll back to Windows 10.

Just my two cents worth, FS2004 and Active Sky Evolution is running FLAWLESS in Windows 11, as well as Lockheed Prepared 4.5, and X-Plane 11. What I'm having trouble with is MSFS2020 won't fire up since I upgraded. Having all sorts of trouble with Microsoft Gaming Services, can't get it updated, therefore MSFS2020 is grounded to the flight line until I get it sorted out.

Update: I installed Win 11 on abovementioned computer about a month ago. I installed FSX Steam and all of my addons. So far everything is working great, no issues. However I have another BIG problem now, I recently purchase a new "gamming computer" that has specs far exceeding the requirements needed for any of the FS programs and addons. It came out of the box running Win 10, I installed FSX and everything else. All of programs run fine with no issues and look much better on this new computer. I then decided to install Win 11 on this new computer, everything runs fine except FSX Steam! It simply will not open. The opening banner appears for about two seconds and disappears. I have tried many "fixes" found on Google and the Steam website/forums with no success. Any suggestions? I plan to purchase MSFS 2020 soon. I'll let you know how that goes.

A co-gamer told me that if you have a 12th gen or higher CPU, Windows 11 will make use of the power cores instead of the efficieny cores and you'll see some improvement. I just upgraded a week ago and do see some performance benefits.

I really need to know if Windows 11 is worth it in using MSFS.
I think most pilots have commented that it is.

Same question here. P3D 5.3 running perfect in Windows 10, but updates are pushing me to install Windows 11.

I still have my doubts...not sure if i should do it or if everyghing works fine....

PS, I would hate to reinstall all my sim environment again.

I upgraded to Windows 11 and can run MSFS, P3Dv4, P3Dv5, and FSX:SE without problems. But it depends on your PC config, the upgrade process, where you install the simulators, etc. Since there are too many variables, if you have the required hardware for the simulators, then upgrade to Windows 11.
