I recently reinstalled Steam:SE because it totally froze. I then had problems with ACARS which appeared to be FSUIPC related. I deleted FSUIPC & reinstalled it.
New problem- FSX starts but when I hit Fly Now it drops out. No messages.
Using DVA fleet B757-200
HELP!!

An additional thought: Not sure if my FSUIPC file is in the correct location. Currently in Documents>Flight Simming>FSUIPC. Flight Simming is a "home-made"file>. Perhaps a poor choice. Not my strong suit.

| Do you have a file named "FSUIPC4.dll" in your ...\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\Modules folder? If so, FSUIPC is installed correctly. There may be a folder under your Documents named FSUIPC, but that folder should contain mostly FSUIPC-related documents.

Thanks David, bless you, I do have lots of FSUIPC files located under Modules including .dll.
But - I also note that there are old FSUIP4 files, presumably from previous installations which, because I am not clever about these things, I failed to delete before my last reinstallation. Could they cause confusion? Should I delete them?

| I don't think those old files confuse the computer. Do you have FSUIPC4.dll in the Modules folder? Is FSX crashing with other combinations of aircraft and startup locations?

Yes, I have FSUIPC4 in the Modules folder. I have a fully programmed aircraft ready to go loaded in FSX. Just in case there's problem with that I will delete that flight and start from scratch. I will come back with the result in a few minutes.

I cancelled all saved flight plans in FSX. I saved those flight plans so that I did not have to repeatedly program the weather as required for a checkride. This did not help. FSX crashed again.
I restarted FSX and selected one of the FSX Missions. That's how I started my flight simming originally before I joined DVA.
This worked. I than changed the aircraft - still good. Then I loaded a flight plan. No problemo - it looked like I was back in business.
I then opened ACARS which was my initial problem, holding my breath. HAPPY DAYS. ACARS is working again.
Thank again for pushing me in the right direction.
