Searched and didn't find any clues (this means I must be clueless). Airport is SCFX.

MSFS - In the middle of the World Tour 2023, trying to setup SCIP -> SCFX leg (leg 45). MSFS finds SCFX but nothing else is able to. PMDG states 'Not in data base'. Simbrief app cant find it. Rex cant find it. ONLY MSFS. Creating plan on Simbrief.com threw an error in flight planning (click generate then status bar goes from GREEN to RED and talks about offset values and then creates an oddball flight plan). It does not find SCFX but ends flightplan right near where it would be. DVA ACARS sees it just fine.

AIRACS are all up to date and no other recent airport issues - only SCFX. No other search results for SCFX so am confident something is broken on my end EXCEPT for Simbrief.com not wanting to play nice - that adds some confusion to the mix.

At a bit of a loss here. Anyone seen anything like this?

Anthony,

Yes, there were a few airports on the World Tour 2023 that were defined in P3Dv4.5 but they don't exist in my FMC or Navigraph Charts (both are supplied with monthly data updates from Navigraph). So while the good news is that you can fly to the airport in the sim, the challenge is that the FMC in your aircraft can't bring you directly there. The reason for this is it seems the airports in the real world have been retired. You can see evidence of this by looking at the airport using an overhead map (for instance using DVA's route planner).

If you're having problems trying to figure out how to use your aircraft's navigational systems to get to the airport, continue reading and I'll share what I did. If you want to figure it out for yourself, stop reading.

You'll need to find the coordinates of the airport. You can find these in multiple places. It should be in your sim. I believe you can also find them by clicking on the airport name/bubble in the DVA route plotter.

Now set up your FMC. Set up your departure airport. For your arrival airport you'll need to select a nearby airport since the one you're flying to is not in the database. On your route or legs page, enter the coordinates of the airport (ie. N050W081 - I'm just making these up).

Now go fly your leg. When the aircraft reaches the coordinates above, descend to VFR altitude and you'll be in the general area but you may not be close enough to the airport to see it. You can either fly around looking for it, or use the mapping function in your sim to see which direction you need to move to fly directly to the airport within the area. If you've entered the route in your sim, it should be easy because you'll see the magenta line going straight to the airport destination in the map.

Once you locate the airport visually, you'll need to choose a runway and hand fly down to the runway. Your FMC should be able to give you fairly accurate numbers for vREF but of course you will have no approaches available to help you.

Jason's method worked well for me in the Northern Canada Tour (forgetting name) last year. Some of those airports up there... don't really exist. lol
