Hi,

I have a-l-w-a-y-s had the dreaded message box invade my screen advising FSX has run out of memory and an Out Of Memory (OOM) condition would shut FSX down. So I was curious how much time and/or distance I should constrain my flights when flight planning.

FYI - I have tried every pathway to OOM-less flying that is out there, AFAIK. Bjote, Kostas, and Nick's "Bible" have never worked for me no matter how many times I reformatted, cleaned installed, etc. sometimes across days to ensure my compliance with the process. Mind you, I have experienced OOMs with three different laptops. So, I resigned myself to flying with a time bomb. I just want to how to fly just short of an OOM.

It depends on scenery and aircraft complexity.

Do you have a 64-bit version of Windows, and are you using SP2?

For scenery I only have FScene for FSX
Aircraft: DVA 727
O/S: Win10-64.
FSX.exe File version: 10.0.62615.0

Yes it relates to scenery and a/c thus can get OOM for every flight on approach just when you thought you'd make it or how about just after touch down yuk.
I get warning beeps for 2 minutes or so and I pause and try to disable addon scenery and move sliders left to rescue it.

when I fly with FSX, I reboot after every flight. When I use P3D, I reboot after 2 or 3 flights. Depends on distance.
