ok I just need to cross reference some stuff to make sure I get it done right. I've been e-mailing Mark about the 757 rankings and additional rankings for the MD-11. From what I understand to get the additional ranking(not to move up as f/o or anything just add. ranking) I still need to submitted a flight video as well as the test...and to be able to do a flight video I need to be a captain of the 757 program? Am I correct on what I understand?

also, Joe could you e-mail me at mattsisson@cableone.net please.

Well it looks like you made the 757/767 program congrats man!!! Regarding the MD-11 add. rating, yes you do need a checkride, and a test, because it is a stage four aircraft.

You can't get the MD-11 rating anyway because you're only in a Stage B aircraft.

I'm going to go out and make a suggestion regarding the promotions procedure here, and I hope I don't upset anyone. I see that Matt Sisson (I'm using him as an example because he started this post) primarily flies a Stage 2 airplane because he chooses to do so, and he has no desire to leave the program he's in. The way it's written currently, as Matt Young points out (there are WAY too many Matts here lol), Mr. Sisson is ineligible for a Stage 4 rating because he's enrolled in a Stage 2 program. To get a Stage 4 rating now, Mr. Sisson would have to leave his MD-88 program, earn Captain rank in a Stage 3 plane, then earn a Stage 4 rating, and then, if he wanted to, he could drop back to the MD-88 program without losing the new Stage 4 rating. Wouldn't it simplify matters if we allowed a pilot who wants to fly Stage 4s but stay in a Stage 2 program to meet all the reqirements for a Stage 3 Captain, then allow them to earn Stage 4 ratings? I realize that the idea is for a pilot to demonstrate their competence in increasingly more complex aircraft before someone just jumps into a heavy and blasts off, but if the pilot is willing to "jump thru the hoops" to demonstrate their increasing abilities, I don't know that making them switch programs is really necessary.

which by the way I learned that I pretty much have to become a F/O of the 777 to be able to fly them. I have to become a capt. of the 757(that's 10 flights) and take the 757 captain test(i don't need to take the 737 capt. to fly that or do the video) which I have to do in order to fly the heavies as well. So I'm going to get to a 777f/o status AS WELL as MD-11 f/o but yet will ask to move down to the maddog...is it at all possible to do some recosideration plz?

Where are you getting that you'll have to do that much? As soon as you get a 777 or MD-11 ratings, you can just take the test like usual for the others. READ THE PROMOTIONS MANUAL.

uummm Matt(Young)..I have an MD-11 rating, but i cant take a test to get rated in the 777.,because i'de have to leave my post in the MD-88 program and become a f/o in the 777,do a check ride,sooooooooo.....kindly re-explain the promotion guide again..and if its inaccurate...it needs to be changed.
If a CP has implemented his/her own policies...these should be reflected in the promotion guide as well..no exceptions.....keep it fair all the way around....the 777 & Concorde is the only things here that I dont have a rating in...and Im not leaving the MD-88 program just to go get a rating in the 777..I can fly the 777 somewhere else legally and pirep it...for those of you that know what im talking about..;-p...and since its a code share partner..i use the DAL livery and flight # when I fly it.....theres more than one way to skin a cat...but..i think some changes are in order....just my .02..

Matt Sisson, you wouldn't have to get a 777 rating to fly the MD-11. Of the stage 4 birds, the 777 was the last one of the 3 I got (MD-11 first, then a DC-8 for me). Now, I still think that you should have to take both the F/O and Captain tests and do the 10 flights in a Stage 3 bird (any of the 3, take your pick) before you should be allowed to test up into any Stage 4 bird. I just don't think that you should be required to make continual program changes up, only to step back down so you can be in the program you really want to be in.
