I have some broad questions about the installers I'd appreciate people's feedback on. I have the capacity to allow the installers to detect information about your system, and submit it back to my web server. This would give me the ability to see what kind of systems things are running on, to get a feel for what kind of hardware and operating systems you are using.

I am also aware of your privacy; I don't want to be too nosy, but at the same time this information would be very useful in meeting your needs. Would you be agreeable to this if I:

a) Made it optional, and gave you the option not to submit this information;
b) Made it anonymous; I'd create a Windows GUID to link this info to, so it would never be linked to your name or ID.

Does this seem OK, or should I forget it?

Cheers!

Luke

I think that would make this a lot easier to determine what aircraft/panel to use in the installers so it's not too much for a lower powered computer.

If it wasn't DVA, I would have some qualms, but I'm okay with it.

I would not download a DVA installer with such an option. Privacy is not such a trivial matter.
