My son made it back from Iraq today and is in the States at Bugford, S. Carolina. (Or North I can never remember.) He may come home this weekend or next weekend.

If so, I will not likely make the flight, but it depends on what he wants to do. He has friends he may spend time with, or go to St. Louis with them.

I'll just have to play it by ear if he makes it home this weekend.

On the other hand, when I spoke to him on the phone from Iraq on Monday, he sounded interested in what I've been doing with Delta. He is an avid flight simmer himself but has never flown on-line on VATSIM, only with a couple of other folks in his virtual Navy Squadron several years ago before he joined the Corp.

He may be interested in watching part of a flight. The on-line voice ATC really interested him.

Michael:

Bugford must be in NC? I could be wrong, regardless, if there is a Bugford SC, tell him to come by Columbia and we'll take care of him! Also, convey my thanks to him for his service to his country!

It's actually Bueford. I mis-spelled it when I typed the first message. I'm still not sure which Carolina it's in though. It's either a Marine Corp base or a Naval base, I'm not sure. I'm an Air Force veteran...don't know much about the ground pounder stations.

Bugford sounds like a town in the hills though, doesn't it?

Are you sure you don't mean Beaufort? There is a MCAS there in South Carolina. I don't even think it could be anything in NC with that name, although we also have a city with same name and different pronunciation. At any rate, glad that your boy made it home safe and sound from Iraq.
