Trying to get type certified for the 737-800 so that i can use the wonderful PMDG. Took the 737 test and it says that i got ALL the answers wrong. Now I know i have significant brain dumps once in a while, but this can't be true!! Can somebody with 'authority' please take a look-see? Since I'm new to the airline I'm not 100% sure of the protocols here, so I apologize in advance if i offend someone by not targeting this post.

Since I'm in the 757 Stage 3 program right now, do i have to do anything other than take the First Officer test for the 737 program?

By the way I participated in the Great Falls flyin last night and was mightily impressed by the turnout. Sure glad i got out of the gate pretty quick though... didn't want to be stuck behind the 15 waiting in line!!! Tons of fun.

Regards,

Steve Brayford

(note no cool signature -- how do i get one of those, or do you have to create your own?)

Dan --

I'm a little confused by this. Maybe the Promotion Manual is not the most current place to obtain information?

I don't see in the Promotions Manual where you have to be of a certain rank in order to actually qualify for an additional type rating of a lower stage aircraft. I only see the requirement (on page 8 & 9) where you have to take a First Officer exam for that specific aircraft.

Thanks.

It was also in the sticky posted by Terry Eshenour (para 3b if my memory serves me well...). I think we are in the midst of a rewrite of the Promotion Guide. In any case, you have to be a captain in your current program to go for additional ratings.
