So of course, I pick a flight into JFK. Should be fun!

Yea it is terrible here in the NE. It has been raining heavily for the last three days. Here in PHL they were doing something really weird. All arriving aircraft except for the BAW 777 were doing the converging ILS 17. If you know PHL, 17 is about 5500 ft, the winds were like 080 at 25 too. I would imagine they had to hit the brakes pretty hard.

They weren't kidding about that 1/16 mile. It was weird, I had no trouble picking up the lights for KJFK 13L at 6 miles and 1800', and did an uneventful ILS approach and landing, but once I was on the ground, I could see virtually nothing. I literally almost hit the terminal building before I saw it!

That was odd. I was expecting solid soup down to the deck, but the approach and landing weren't bad at all--I could easily see lights on the ground at 3000' AGL.

Flying out of Detroit back to Atlanta now. The JFK-ATL flight would take too long, there's 100+ knot southerly winds at FL350 over the Carolinas up to Jersey, pushing that storm along. I was doing 575 groundspeed at one point.
