ACARS has slipped a bit in the last few weeks, but I attacked it again today. Ross has sent me a working version of the client that I had sat on for a bit.
I have managed to complete the database persistence code, as well as the LDAP configuration that allows an ACARS client to authenticate against the ACARS server, which then in turn validates the user ID and password from the DVA database via LDAP. This was successfully completed tonight, and over the next day or two I will be testing things out using FS9 to see how it works logging position reports.
There are bound to be hiccups along the way, but ACARS is continuing along and I hope to have something for the summer. Ross is continuing to work on some great mapping applications that will do useful things with the data that the ACARS clients provide and the server consolidates.
