There are no available flight assignments for my assigned aircraft. Am I allowed to use one of the other flight assignments for another type of aircraft and just substitute mine in for it?

I just take one for you assigned aircraft and fly it then report it. Don't worry about signing up to do it.

Re member in order to get credit you would need a flight number;)

"Flight Assignments" don't work right now. They're a holdover from the days when the schedule was not updated nearly as often as it is now. It would be impossible to keep the assignments valid and current with the real-world Delta and codeshare timetables getting imported into the system quarterly.

There's a bunch of different ways you can find a route to fly:

- Pick it off the real-world Delta schedule, you can download it from www.delta.com. They update it monthly.
- Use Schedule Search to pick a start point and an end point.
- Browse the DVA schedule by equipment type.
- Use Find a Flight to pick a start point start time, and requested length, and see what comes out.

And remember, you're not necessarily limited to the plane listed on the schedule. For example, if you're rated for the 737 and you see a flight that you'd like to fly but it's an MD-88 flight, go ahead and fly it with the 737. If you're rated in a type, you can fly it on any scheduled and reportable flight (within reason).
