As you may be aware, Matt Young, Matt Moak and I are in the process of upgrading our Fleet Library. We've had some updated models and textures and some feedback regarding texture issues. I have also developed a superior uninstaller and multi-language support (thanks to Pablo Fraga and Ariel Griotti).

As part of this exercise, I'm curious as to the level of support for FS2002 you would wish to see. Right now, there are a few minor differences between FS2002 and FS2004 (mostly in the panels) that force me to do some tweaks in the installers depending on your FS version. However, going forward we are seeing more and more design groups dropping support for FS2002 in favor of being FS9 only. I'm already forced into this situation with the DC-8 and CV-880, which are FS9-only.

Going forward, how many of you are running FS2002 as your main FS version? Would it bother you greatly if future installers did not support FS2002? The possible alternative I have is that we'd support FS2002 *if* the model/panel supported it, but if not - too bad.

I have yet to come to any final decision on this, so feedback at this point would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

I still use 2002, my computer will not run 2004 well. I bought it back about 3 months ago and I just could not stand the frame rates, I will stick with 2002 for a while, my last sim was 98 if that tells you anything.

Luke,
same here, ... staying with FS2002 and no plans to move to FS2004 in view of resource demands beyond my PC.

But the move to drop this from new additions to the Fleet seems understandable considering the newer development focused on FS9. Maybe it would be enough to advise how the tweaks are made to get FS9 aircraft to work correctly in FS2002 and we could do that ourselves?

I am also still mainly using FS2002. I have 2004 but I won't switch until they come out with a good 777 for FS9.

I'm still with 2002. See no need to change.

I am running primarily FS04 also, due to resource demands. May convert later, once SB3 is out and bug free and I upgrade computer, kid goes to college....etc...LOL

Wow, I'm really supprised, I would have expected everyone to be running 2k4 by now. I've been running it exclusively for about 9 months (even with the bad framerates)!
