Since the AF and KLM merger (or what ever it is), are we allowed to fly KLM routes since they are a part of AF?

Since they are now one airline I see no reason why KLM flights cannot be flown. If they are merged, they are not codeshare any longer.

I'm going to post this in the AF ops area.

While it is true that the ownership merger between KLM and AFA was announced in Sept. 2003 and completed in May 2004, airliine operations continue to be separate.

Regardless of ownership structure, DVA's policy is unchanged, we accept Air France flights and code shares bearing an Air France flight number.

The Air France relationship is special and exceptional to permit DVA pilots to fly European regional routes and aircraft not in DAL's fleet, i.e., Airbus and B747. The Air France route system dove tails nicely with Delta's since there is little overlap.

We will continue to monitor the operations merger of AFA and KLM. Until advised differently, KLM flights will not be accepted unless they are an Air France codeshare and bear a AFA flight number.
