I've managed to take the December Delta PDF schedule, load it into Acrobat and export into a text file. From there, I've written a Java parsing routine that can convert the data into something like this:

I now have to write some code to take this raw data and apply the time zone information to calculate the duration of the flight, but we're close. The acid test for the parser is if it can handle the January 2004 schedule, which was released today. If it can, we have the ability to be in synch with Delta's real-world timetable, no more than 48 hours out of date.

Woohoo. It loaded (with the minor exception of the A340-600 being introduced by SAA.) One minor fix and time to get the second part of the loader done, the one that applies the TZ data and writes to the database.
