Does Delta VA have any standardized training programs in place? I am brand new and have started on the manuals, but any help from you guys would be appreciated. Thanks!

Cool, Welcome to the best VA around!! About training programs, well i don't know if we have any online training programs except the 777 one, but have you read the Flight Encyclopedia in the Documents Library. This should give a basic knowledge of aprroach charts etc. other than that, the aircraft manual will tell you alot, but we're all willing to give you a helping hand.

All the best

Hey Burke,
Like Dan said welcome to the best VA ever!!!! Regarding the training sessions the 777 program has one on the usually the first Thursday of every month. They are open to all pilots not just 777 pilots, and so far we have talked about North Atlantic Tracks, and Instrument Approaches. During the August training session we will probably focus on International flight rules. Keep a look out in the water cooler for any annoucments regarding the training session. In the mean time as always if you ever have any questions do not hesitate to ask, we have a great group of pilots here who are always very helpful.
Welcome,

Burke,

I can recall a two hour online checkride/training session with Ty Weston when I was promotoed to the Mad Dog. He was willing to walk me through some standard procedures and teach me quite a bit. This was before I started flying in real life, so my knowledge was fairly limited.

I have no doubt that your Chief Pilot, James Brickell would be more than happy to participate in an online training session with you as well, as he is that kind of guy. Just go to the home page and look for the "our staff" page and shoot him an email asking about it.

Of course, since he posts here about 437 times a day smile something tells me that he'll see this thread and respond.

I also have a sneaking suspiscion that there will be some sort of training program here eventually, perhaps in connection with the new truboprop program being started. In the mean time, just ask away and use the resources already availible here.

Are you specifically needing type training or nav and airport ops training? Just curious.

Interestingly enough Awais, I thought the very same thing about you when I saw a couple of new posts from you this morning.

Thanks for the greeting. Business has had me occupied for about six months, but I have some breathing room (not too mention free time) now.

Hey Jacob,

Good to see you on this board again! How's the flying going? How's Melissa? I'm going to have to come up to IND again one of these days and visit the "new" family. I can't seem to stay in the country more than 2 weeks a month though! Drop me an email let me know what's going on. I'll be flying around the world for the next week and a half. Take care,

Son of a &%@#%!

I had your email wrong (left out the "S", so I was sending it to giantfan).

I'm sure the rest of the board is enraptured by this little back and forth. Sorry guys.
