There is no flight number for tomorrow's fly-in. Does this mean then that I can't do a pirep for it if I participate?

Fritz
You can fly any group flight that you are rated for in that Aircraft if it can safely make the trip regardless of the flight number.

When I go to make my pirep do I put the flight number for the group flight? I assume whoever is the approving authority will see via my comments it was a group event and as such I'll receive credit for it?

Fritz,

Group Events are typically for all aircraft unless otherwise stated in the event. As First Officer/ Captain you are still required to ensure your aircraft can make the flight. Thursday in this case you can fly whatever aircraft you choose. As long as you have the rating you can pirep the flight used the Delta flight number listed on the event signup.

Cheers,

Andrew

I'm flying the 763 out of Bozeman. You should have no problems with a 757.

Sorry Fritz, I got distracted in my earlier post with real world things - here is the copy and paste from the website's online events link

Delta FLT Number: 1574 Operated by Delta Airlines Inc.

use that and you'll be good to go.

Unless the rules have changed we used to use our pilot ID numbers for the flight number during group flights. Just put group flight or fly-in in the remarks section of your PIREP so we know.

Thanks for the heads-up. In the absense of a flight number on a group flight I will revert to this method.
