OK, being new to this awesome VA, I have a few questions.

1. Do I have to fly a certain number of hours per month?
2. Do I have to fly with online ATC (it does not bug me if I do, except not much other traffic in the air)
3. As a 757 pilot, I may only log flights using 757s?
4. If I have a route I want to fly, but another pilot is already flying it, can I still fly and log it?
5. Do I have to be very high ranking to choose equipment, or is it all automatically assigned?

Thanks. smile

Hello Ron and Welcome to Delta Virtual smile

I'm sure you will love your time here. Please go to the Pilot Center/Document Library and download or open the Pilot's manual. After you've read the manual thoroughly, I'm sure you will find your answers. Then come back to the Water Cooler and feel free to ask any questions, you're unable to find the answers for.

Make sure you check out the DVA ACARS program. I think it will fit the style of flying you are seeking.

Good Luck !

Ron,
Welcome to DVA.
1. No you do not have to fly a pre determined amount of hours each month.
Please download and read the Pilots handbook from the document library..it will answer all of your questions that you have posted...it also discusses ranks and promotions as well...you may fly any route you want with the 757 as long as it can make the trip safely.it doesn't matter if someone is flying that same route or not.
I think after about 2 weeks here, you are going to see how we operate and be very happy here, you will also learn ALOT from the members here..
Again,
Welcome to DVA!!!
plz dont hesitate to ask a question here,no matter how complicated or foolish it may seem to you...we all have questions, and most here have an answer...welcome to the club med of VA's!! LOL

Welcome to DVA Ron. The only requirement is to log onto the website once every 90 days. Fly as little or as much as you like.

Online flights are not mandatory - they are optional.

As a 757 pilot, you can fly the 757 and any other airplane you are rated to fly - go to the Pilot Center and you will see at the top of the screen the types of airplanes you are "rated to fly" - you may PIREP with any of those.

The routes you fly must be Delta routes - see the December 2005 Flight Academy newsletter for an article by Matt Reamy on avoiding rejected pilot reports. You can find it in the Pilot Center, Document Library (along with the promotion manual and other important information to help you)

The promotion manual will answer the rank and choosing of equipment.
