I am a cleared 757 captain. I have taken and passed the 777 written test. Can i fly the 777 for practice or do I have to pass the checkride first? Just curious.

You can fly it for practice all you want, you just won't be able to file a PIREP for them until you pass the checkride. Which is kinda a bummer but hopefully you won't need too much practice on it.

Sean,

In order to fly the 777, even if you are just looking to get the rating to fly the plane, you will have to pass a check-ride. You can e-mail Trevor Fenimore and cc, Adam Gaweda for the information needed. Pass the test and you're in.

Best Regards and Good luck.

I am also new to the 777 program and the CR was not quite as hard as it sounded. If it's the difficulty you're worried about, just study your route hard and you should do just fine.

Good Luck!
